#ENDSARS organisation :How we have spent from the donated NGN 77 million so far
One of the leading non-profit organization supporting the on going#ENDSARS protest feminist coalition have received the sum of N77m cash donation in one week to support the protest against police brutality and extrajudicial killings by the now disbanded SARS squad of the Nigerian police force
The group whose main aim is to fight injustice through peaceful protest ,fund raising and social media organization have disclose how they have received cash donations and how they have spend out of the money so far to sponsor the ongoing protest
The fund where raised through the generosity of well-meaning people and concerned Nigerians who want their voice to be heard and there demands to be met
The statement from the organisation was titled progress report
The statement partly read "over the past week ,there has been a peaceful uprising by the Nigerian youth ,demanding for the disbandment of the notorious SARS unit, and the end to police brutality and an unjust judicial system
"Like every one else , we decided to play our part and help fight the injustice through fund raising in order to sustain the peaceful protest and ensure the safety of Nigerians exercising there civil right by providing food ,water and other refreshments,mask ,medical aid for protester
"We have raised the sum of : NGN 62,643,663.05 , USD 11,474.34(N4.3MN) CAD 5,595.89(1.6M) GBP 5,733.49 (2.8M) EUR 875,42(N390.225) GHS 1,256.70(N81,823) KES 53,016.60(N183,656) and BTC 1.28827988 (N5.5) .
With these funds ,we have supported 100 peaceful protester in 25 state ,paid NGN 759,080 in medical bills for injured protesters ,donated NGN 400,000 to the families of victims muttered by the police officers while protesting peacefully ,paid NGN 500,000 in legal aid spend NGN 11,367,500 on supplies including food ,water, mask ,among other things for the peaceful protesters ".
